The fight against cellulite requires a scientific approach
Perhaps no one needs an explanation of what cellulite is and how it looks. But meanwhile, few people know the true causes of its occurrence and effective ways to combat the pernicious “orange peel”.
Speaking the language of science, cellulite (or gynoid lipodystrophy, liposclerosis) is a structural change in the subcutaneous fat layer, which results in problems with microcirculation in adipose tissue and lymphatic outflow.
Science has made significant progress in the fight against cellulite. Until recently, the main ways to combat cellulite were a strict diet and exercise. However, not always a healthy lifestyle helps to solve the problem, especially in the last stages of cellulite. Then numerous biological supplements come to the rescue. But in order to understand the principles of action of these substances, you need to know the scientific side of the emergence and development of lipodystrophy.
Cellulitis is a predominantly female problem that occurs, as a rule, even at a young age or during pregnancy. The “orange peel” appears due to the negative influence of free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) on adipose tissue cells. The blood circulation is disturbed, and the increasing connective tissue literally presses on the overgrown fat cells, forming the same tubercles.
There are four stages of cellulite: pre-cellulite, initial, micronodular and macronodular. As a rule, only the last stage requires medical intervention, the first three can be managed on their own. Moreover, the manifestation of small subcutaneous tubercles during compression is considered the norm for an adult woman. Another thing is if the hillocks become visible without external influence.
The causes of cellulite are many: these are various hormonal disorders, and stress, and overweight, and even heredity. It is more expedient to determine what exactly became the impetus for the development of this ailment before the start of the “struggle”, and try to exclude factors that influence its development. Well, to further combat cellulite, special dietary supplements are usually used, usually based on antioxidants.
Antioxidants are substances that cleanse the body of damaging molecules called free radicals. The most famous substances in the fight against cellulite today are extracts of green tea, grape seed, ginkgo biloba, bubbly fucus.
Modern science has identified one of the most active antioxidants – the superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD). SOD neutralizes not only free radicals, but also reactive oxygen species. It is obtained from a specially bred cantaloupe melon variety (Cucumis Melo L.). The effectiveness of SOD was clinically proven in 2015 in France. The experiment involved women aged 31 to 50 years, some of whom took the SOD enzyme, others took a placebo. Within a month, a positive result was outlined in the first group – cellulite became visually less pronounced. After 56 days, the decrease in cellulite in the participants of the group taking SOD became even more pronounced.
Melon extract containing SOD is used in the Celluline anti-cellulite supplement (“Celluline”) from the Serbian pharmaceutical company LV-FARM d.o.o. This dietary supplement is available in capsule form for daily use. In the package – 28 capsules, the duration of the course is 2-3 weeks. If necessary, the course can be repeated – “detoxification” and “respite” are not required, since the Celluline ingredients are natural. From contraindications: pregnancy, breast-feeding, intolerance to the components of the drug.
Founder of LV-FARM d.o.o. Jovan Lemic, MD, is the author of many scientific papers and studies. Under his leadership, the company has already released two dozen drugs and biological additives, most of which are aimed at combating cellulite.
The main thing that needs to be done in the fight against cellulite is to overcome stereotypes. Yes, many women face this problem, but this does not mean that cellulite is a common thing and can be ignored. The sooner you take care of the solution to the problem, the faster you can return the skin to a healthy structure and the easier it will be to maintain its normal state.
