How Hyaluronic Acid Helps Keep You Young

This is not a chemical drug at all. Hyaluronic acid, or rather acid, is initially found in the human body. They relate to mucopolysaccharides – complex chemical compounds, enter the intercellular substance of various tissues of humans and animals and are involved in many processes of the body. But with age, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases. This also causes signs of aging – wrinkles, sagging skin, loss of facial contour.

Hyaluronic acid for the needs of medicine, including cosmetology, is either obtained from animal raw materials, or synthesized using biotechnology.

Along with aesthetic medicine, hyaluronic acid is used to treat wounds and burns, arthrosis and osteochondrosis, dry eye syndrome, etc.

How does hyaluronic acid work?
The use of hyaluronic acid in cosmetology is based on its ability to attract water, and one molecule of hyaluron holds up to 500 water molecules. Thus, it fills the tissues and creates their volume.

In addition, hyaluronic acid:

activates the formation of fibroblasts – connective tissue cells;
promotes collagen synthesis;
restores skin damage;
eliminates inflammation;
has an antioxidant effect;
enhances skin resistance to mechanical damage.
Introduced into the skin, hyaluron leads to the following effects:

deep hydration;
smoothing wrinkles;
increase skin elasticity;
eliminate sagging;
restoration of facial contours;
increased blood circulation.

Procedures in cosmetology
In cosmetology, injections of hyaluronic acid are used:

mesotherapy – a liquid cocktail is introduced under the skin, consisting of hyaluron and various additives – vitamins, antioxidants, coenzymes, etc. This procedure helps smooth wrinkles, improve complexion, eliminate swelling and rosacea;
biorevitalization – differs from mesotherapy in that it uses a gel containing large volumes of pure hyaluronic acid. This procedure restores skin elasticity, removes enlarged pores, and most importantly, it starts the processes of developing your own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid;
contour plastic surgery – the procedure for filling the missing skin volume with preparations based on hyaluronic acid. Thanks to her, the face contour is leveled, the shape of the cheeks and lips is adjusted.
Hyaluronic acid injections give a good anti-aging effect, but over time it disappears and the procedure has to be carried out again. Beauticians advise repeating the course of treatment on average once every six months, depending on the age and condition of the skin.

All these procedures are simple and quite safe. However, like any medical manipulation, they can cause complications:

allergic reactions;
redness and inflammation of the skin;
skin tightening.
Although, if the procedure is carried out by an experienced specialist and high-quality drugs are used, this rarely happens.

The danger of using hyaluronic acid lies in the fact that with prolonged administration, the body ceases to produce its own acid and then it will be impossible to refuse anti-aging injections. In addition, there is a risk of dehydration, so after the procedure it is advisable to drink at least one and a half liters of fluid per day.

Is it possible to do without injections
Yes you can. If you are afraid of injections, you can use creams, lotions, gels with hyaluronic acid, although their effectiveness is lower.

Creams containing high molecular fractions of hyaluronic acid form a protective layer on the skin. Means with low molecular weight fractions penetrate the skin, acting in its depth. They are more suitable for significant age-related skin changes.

Today, cosmetic centers offer non-injection laser biorevitalization, which consists in applying a gel to the skin and applying a laser to better penetration of the active substance. For this purpose, microcurrents and ultrasounds are also used.
